The article presents the results of the study of cotton particles movement in the separator working chamber located along the inlet of the vacuum valve. When studying the dynamics of cotton pieces movement in horizontal and vertical directions, it was found that cotton pieces entering the inlet spigot had time to get into the vacuum valve in about 0.4 seconds. The results also show that most of the cotton particles hit the front of the vacuum valve. The revealed regularities can be used in the design of new designs of cotton separators.
