Rules for authors

Scientific articles submitted to the "Scientific and Technical Journal of Namangan Institute of Engineering and technology" must be written at the request of IMRAD.

  1. the topic of the scientific article submitted by the authors must correspond to the section of the journal "Scientific and Technical Journal of Namangan Institute of Engineering and technology".
  2. Since the articles are mainly on IMRAD request include the following sections: Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion and Conclusion each section is the basis for the scientific article.
  3. Authors' submitted articles are checked by anti-plagiarism platforms. (https://antiplag.uz/ ). When checking for anti-plagiarism, the uniqueness of the article should show at least 70%.
  4. The text of the article should be typed in Times New Roman font, kegel 12, 1.0 line spacing. On all (right, left, top and bottom) pages of the text of the article a distance of 2 cm (margins) should be left. The total length of the article should not exceed 10-15 pages, and the minimum size should not be less than 5-7 pages (except for the title of the article, information about the author, abstract, and keywords) and the number of used references should not be less than 10-15 sources.
  1. The titles of the table, figure or figure should be written at the bottom and the source should be clearly indicated. The provision of tables, charts and figures in the article serves as a source that enhances the quality of the article.
  2. Articles can be submitted in English.
  3. Authors submit their scientific articles electronically after registration in the make a submittion section..

  Each scientific article is accepted for publication after internal and external reviewing by experienced specialists and members of the editorial board. The authors are given 2 weeks to correct the identified errors and shortcomings. After the lapse of the provided 2 weeks in case of absence of the repeated submission of the corrected article to the editorial board the article consideration process is stopped. The publication of scientific articles is free of charge.

A SCIENTIFIC ARTICLE CONSISTS OF THE FOLLOWING SECTIONS

  1. Title of the article, information about the author of the article (city, place of work, position, number on the ORCID platform, if available) in English.
  2. Abstract (150-250 words) in English.
  3. Key words (10-15 words) in English.
  4. Introduction
  5. Materials and methods (Methods)
  6. Results
  7. Discussion
  8. Conclusions/Recommendations
  9. The list of the used literature (References), where it is recommended to use scientific sources published for the last 5 years.

RULES OF FORMING THE LIST OF USED LITERATURE IN THE JOURNAL "SCIENTIFIC AND TECHNICAL JOURNAL OF NAMANGAN INSTITUTE OF ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY"

The editors recommend that the authors, when preparing the list of references, take into account the citation policy adopted in the journal. The correct description of the sources used ( References ) not only demonstrates the quality of the research, but also guarantees that the cited publication will be taken into account when assessing the scientific activity of its authors. International indexing databases convert all submitted links according to a single structure. In this regard, this block of a scientific article is subject to strict requirements for unification and standardization. A common practice has become the use of bibliographic programs ( Reference management software ), for example Mendeley , EndNote , Zotero , etc., which greatly simplifies the work with sources:

The journal adopted an adapted version of the Vancouver citation style, which is supported by the specified software and is one of the standards recognized by international databases.

Vancouver Requirements Citation Style in the presented samples are variable. The editors ask you to pay attention to the following:

- do not indicate the date of publication for journal articles (leaving only the year);

- the name of the journal (collection of conference materials, books) must be in italics;

- titles of articles (chapters in the book) are not italicized.

The editors ask the authors to pay special attention to the placement of the DOI identifier (if any), as well as to its relevance and correct presentation.

Vancouver style (Vancouver Citation Style)

Vancouver Citation Style - sequential numerical style: links are numbered in the course of their citation in the text; references in the text are placed in square brackets[15]; [15-23]; [1; 15; 34]. Sources in the list of references are numbered in the order of their mention in the text, and not alphabetically:

Last name and first name of the author: no comma between them, no dot between initials.

Block of authors' names - dot (before the title of the article).

The title of the article is a dot.

Journal title in italics.

Year, no space – semicolon; without a space - a digit indicating Volume ( Vol ); without a space in parentheses - a number indicating the number of the journal ( no ); without a space - a colon; without a page space through a dash (no spaces).

If the article has more than six authors, you can specify the names of the first three authors and then use et al .

Rules for describing Russian-language sources

The presentation of sources in Russian in the References raises a number of questions and is of particular difficulty. At the same time, the incorrect presentation of this information can lead to a significant distortion of statistics on citations of publications. If the cited article has a DOI, it must be specified. In the absence of a DOI, citation in MNBD is determined by the name of the first author and the output of the article (name of the journal, year, volume, number, pages). The mismatch of at least one letter or number in these elements leads to the loss of the link.

The editors ask the authors to pay attention to the following rules:

  1. Titles of articles are translated into English.
  2. The titles of the journals are transliterated, but not translated (if the journal does not officially use a parallel English title, the information is checked on the publication's website).
  3. The names of the authors are transliterated. BGN transliteration standard.
  4. Cities whose names are written in English must be given in English ( Moscow , etc.).
  5. It is undesirable to include only the translated name of the conference, as this will complicate the search for the necessary material and may lead to the loss of the link.
  6. At the end of the bibliographic description with the translation of the title of the article, an indication of the language of the article ( In Russ .).
  7. The rules for formatting References apply to sources in any language: articles in Ukrainian, Bulgarian, and other Cyrillic languages should be formatted in the same way as Russian-language ones ( In Russ ., In Ukr . etc.).
  8. Square brackets, if necessary, to bring the transliterated and translated versions of the name are not used. We recommend using the = sign.

REGULATIONS REGARDING THE TIME FOR AUTHORS TO MAKE CORRECTIONS TO THE TEXT OF MANUSCRIPTS

  1. There is no response from the authors after the first 2 weeks from the moment they sent the comments of the reviewer / editor;
  2. The delay of the manuscript from the moment the reviewer/editor comments are sent to the authors will be more than 4 weeks;
  3. The total time for preparing the manuscript will exceed 12 weeks.

The authors will be notified by e-mail about the removal of the manuscript from further consideration.
