Abstract

Abstract: This literature review examines the implementation of Industry 4.0 in China, focusing on its historical development, strategic national policies, key technological advancements, and socio-economic impacts. Industry 4.0, characterized by the integration of digital technologies such as IoT, AI, robotics, and big data into manufacturing processes, represents a significant shift in China's industrial landscape. The article provides a global overview of Industry 4.0, highlighting its technological foundations and its importance in transforming manufacturing systems worldwide. This article examines China's specific context, exploring the country's historical industrial evolution, the "Made in China 2025" initiative, and the roles of key players, including government bodies, state-owned enterprises, and private companies. The author analyzes the socio-economic impacts, including productivity gains, cost reductions, new business models, and the profound effects on employment, workforce development, and environmental sustainability. The review underscores the transformative potential of Industry 4.0 in China while acknowledging the challenges that must be addressed to fully realize its benefits.
