This paper presents the determination of optimal operating parameters of a cotton cleaning machine designed for the removal of large impurities, based on a mathematical modeling approach. The study focuses on modifying the shape and diameter of the grate bars (kolosniks), which constitute the main working element of the cleaning device. Experimental data were processed using a mathematical model, and the obtained results were presented in tabular and graphical forms. The analysis of the graphs allowed determination of the optimal values of the grate bar diameter, the clearance between the saw drum and the grate bars, and the rotational speed of the saw drum, ensuring improved cleaning efficiency and reduced cotton losses.
